Tinker Crate Review - Ages 9-16+

Tinker Crate September Box Review

Tinker Crate is a subscription box available for children ages 9-16+. They have other Crates too Koala for ages 3-4, Kiwi for ages 4-8, and also Doodle Crate which is also for 9-16+. We have previously purchased Kiwi crates for my boys who are 4 and 7, I had an offer to get the Tinker Crate for the cost of shipping and jumped on it.

This month's Tinker Crate theme was Soda Science included is all pictured below:

It came with a bottle for a bottle rocket and multiple experiments, Citric Acid packet, Soda Bicarbonate (Baking Soda),

balloons for experiments, rivet stickers, a bottle rocket stand,

a mixing cup, measuring spoon, and stir stick.

The blueprints are for the bottle rocket and though it says it's for 9 year olds my 7 year old would have needed little to no guidance as clear as the instructions were.

As it was we did it as a family activity and had even the 4 year old helping.

In the Tinker Zine there are a number of experiments to do with the included objects and a few to do with stuff you could do that was related to the theme.

The pages have a number of experiments that your child can do. All related to the theme of Soda. I love how many different options come out of each box. I like to take time with the experiments and make the boxes last a little longer.

For the bottle rocket we only needed to supply the water. Here is the bottle rocket completed and waiting to launch.

Our rocket launch was so much fun! The boys loved it and there were plenty of oohs and ahhhs!

Tinker Crate offers 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions.

3 month runs $60, 6 month runs $110, 12 month runs at $205.

Here is the video of our 2nd rocket launch.
